Who are we?
“Helping the world move in the right direction”
The “Turkmenistan Association of International Road Carriers” (THADA) is a non-profit public organization based on the voluntary membership of legal entities and individual entrepreneurs registered in Turkmenistan, engaged in the transportation of goods and/or passengers in international road transport.
The “Turkmenistan Association of International Road Carriers” (THADA) was founded on February 6, 1995. Currently, the Association comprises more than 50 transport companies and individual entrepreneurs, and this list is growing each day with new members. The unification of members into the Association serves as proof of their high professionalism, financial stability, and well-deserved business reputation. For the Association itself, this is a necessary condition for its successful operation and the fulfillment of its statutory tasks.
Since 1995, the Association has been a full member of the International Road Transport Union (IRU), and since 1996, it has been the only guarantee organization in Turkmenistan issuing TIR carnets provided for by the Customs Convention on the International Transport of Goods under cover of TIR carnets of 1975.
The activities of the Association are aimed at protecting the rights of its members, representing their interests in the field of international road transport of goods and passengers, and coordinating their efforts in expanding business activities in the freight forwarding and logistics services market.
IRU – international organization for the road transport industry
We find solutions that promote freedom of movement, trade and economic growth, employment and security, and social and environmental change for the better. The IRU’s activities cover more than a hundred countries. The core of our organization is made up of national transport associations and carriers. We also work closely with representatives of business and government agencies, the UN and other international organizations.
At the heart of the IRU are the millions of journeys made around the world every day: passengers and goods are carried to their destinations, and at least part of the journey is made by intra- and inter-city buses, taxis or trucks.
